Updated: Sep 23, 2020

FOUR... The weather is getting nice and Arizona is known for its amazing golf courses. Gila County is no exception! Gila County's golfing opportunities are about as diverse as the landscape that surrounds them. When one golfs at any of these courses they will find that nature, serenity and beauty are all part of the package.

Gila County boasts of two nationally acclaimed courses, the first being: The Rim Golf Club in Payson, Arizona. It is a Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish Golf course design. It is currently the #2 Ranked golf course by Golf Week Magazine. This is a private course, but if you know someone that can get you on, it is amazing.

The equally impressive Golf Course at Chaparral Pines was designed by former U.S. Open and PGA Champion David Graham and noted Scottsdale-based architect Gary Panks. It was named one of Golf Digest’s “Top 10 New Private Golf Courses in the U.S.” when it opened in 1997 and consistently ranks among the magazine’s “Top 10 Private Golf Courses” in Arizona. Both courses are owned by professional golfer Phil Michelson Golf Properties. This course is also private. One of our very nice public courses is located in San Carlos, Arizona at the Apache Gold Resort called, Apache Stronghold Golf Club.
